Hi Lyn! I’ll pick up Rebecca today! I’ve heard about it, but I’m not sure I ever read it along the way. It will be a perfect complement to The Miniaturist, I think! I’m reading about 4-6 books a month right now and parts of more. I’ve finally started allowing myself to not finish a book. In terms of genre – I’m just trying to mix it up a lot right now, so I try to read something unlike whatever I just finished. Not a very visionary strategy. 🙂 I should work on that! How do you decide? I know you read very widely!

This story seems to echo Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca in some ways…do you think? At least, the way the protagonist finds the house out of her control. (By the way, I read My Cousin Rachel a couple summers ago and was spooked in a good way…nothing graphic, but lots of creepy, untrustworthy folk.)

A question for you: how many books do you average reading a month? Just curious…and also, when you have the dilemma of which genre to read next, which type of book makes it to the top of your nightstand?
