Just finished a most insightful account of the struggles in the early part of the 19th century as European immigrants to North America pushed out the native peoples from their homeland in what is now the southeast portion of the United States. Steve Inskeep, long time journalist with National Public Radio, has done a masterful job in describing the social tensions of the times which involved not only the African slaves but also the American Indian. “Jacksonsonland” is the title of the easy to read, most informative work.
