Oh, and wasn't Polyjuice potion something that was weeks in the making? I'm sorry, but the plot is just not very credible. It's far fetched. It's as if the makers of the play had votes and by majority decided which bits and parts they were going to revive from the series, which spells, which characters, which scenes, and then they threw them all together onto a big pile, tumbled them around a bit, and voila, the plot revealed itself...

I'm so sorry you found it as disappointing as I did. I was wondering if it was just me. Maybe the kids will love it? My 12 year old niece is reading and I'm anxious to hear her thoughts! Thanks so much Sine. Xo

So agree with all that you say, Jennifer, brilliant. I'm about 2/3 through. Totally agree with you on the half-hearted bit. I also doubt that she spent a lot of time with this at all, rather left it to the playwrights to fine tune it. Little inconsistencies bug me. It's Minister OF Magic, not Minister FOR Magic, I'm quite sure. Also, in all the Harry Potter books, you will never find the Flipendo charm. It's only used in the PC games (which I had to help my kids through quite a bit when they were little, so I KNOW that charm very well:-)

Honestly, I think she could have endorsed Voldemort himself in this book and we would have read it and probably forgiven her, she has that kind of clout. But all the more disappointing that she didn't deliver more here. The whole story is a bit forced. I'd love to see the actual play, maybe it would all come together better in that. For the book, I think she should have not released this script and rather waited until she's got it in novel form. She will write it in novel form, right? Right?
