Jennifer, just catching up on email, and SO sorry to hear of your foot injuries. I’ve had two broken bones in my feet the last five years, and know they are quite painful. My heart goes out to you.

Jennifer — I am SO sorry to read about your fall and your broken bones. What a bummer for someone as active as you. If there is anything we can do for you — a run to Publix of the Picnic, or whatever, please let us know. We don’t live too far away!

I too have experienced the oddly bracing effect of grim material in these times.
We are watching the miniseries, “To the Lake,” in the Russian language version. Beyond dystopia, because it’s a RUSSIAN dystopia set amid a plague in the dead of winter, it nevertheless comforts. Is it because we can say, despite all, here we are, … watching television? You, unfortunately, laid up and in pain, … reading a book? The power of art!
