Hello Jennifer,
Love your list of Southern Essentials! I copied the whole list for future reading. I'm related to both Walker Percy and William Alexander Percy on my mother's side, so I was glad to see they made your list. Both sides of my family are southern and though I grew up in the north, the atmosphere in our home was definitely all southern, and all my cousins are southerners. One lives in Nashville. I just published an environmental murder mystery (with a little romance) based in the Everglades -- it's on Amazon under my pen name: Love and Death in the Everglades, by E.B. Wynn. It's available inexpensively on Kindle, but if you would like a paper copy, let me know.

Jennifer, I read your pieces in StyleBlueprint, and enjoy them! I am trying to get the word out about my book, Theatre Is My Life! Can I get you a copy? Or, it is available on Amazon and in Birmingham at some local spots. You can read some of the entries, as well as new pieces, through the blogs on my website. Thanks!

It’s so wonderful to hear from you at Bacon, dear Bill! Working on this project has really made me want to revisit the stories of Eudora Welty. I bought a copy of the collection, introduced by Ann Patchett, and will be diving in soon! Xoxo

Glad that "The Collected Stories of Eudora Welty" got on the list. I'm a Mississippian by birth and raising and am afraid that she gets overlooked. Ann Patchett has done a deep dive into Welty, after marrying into Mississippi. Patchett relates in her "These Precious Days" that Donna Tartt (from Greenwood, MS; author of "The Goldfinch") told her once that "the reason it's so impossible to write about Mississippi is that everyone thinks you're exaggerating." I really resonate with that thought.
