Pepper was helping me get ready for company. She believes that Skinny Pop should be available in multiple locations, as should the newspaper, conveniently shredded. She made sure there was toilet tissue in every room. “Pumpkin pie is great – sure,” she acknowledged, “but the really important thing is the availability of toilet tissue.”
Thank you, Pepper! You are such a good hostess and helper!
Thank you, Bacon readers and writers, for the kind encouragement and wonderful posts these last nine months. My Thanksgiving wish for you: I hope that after you are sated with family and friends and feasting, you might stretch out on the sofa with a good book. That’s what I’m aiming for myself.
Oh Pepper- You sure keep your family on their toes! What a good girl you are- I’ll bet everyone is thankful for your sweetness, high spirits, and hijinks.
I am thankful for your Mama’s blog- so much insight and wit in my inbox every week. Xo

Jennifer, I like that you are taking heed to Biblical commands. Remember: “In all things give thanks.” Be careful where you place your food as you prepare for TG feast. Pepper could help you with that also. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving from Lillington, NC!
Hi Aunt Paula! Yes, I’d better be careful with Thanksgiving dinner! She’s just the kind of girl to help herself!! 🙂 Thank you for your sweet comment. Thinking of you and wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! xo
Terrific advice all around. Thanks for the good wishes, and your wonderful blog. Happy Thanksgiving, Jennifer!

Jennifer–last year we made the mistake of leaving the warming drawer below the oven open as we took food out and to the table. When we returned, Winston the 100 pound sheep dog was so happy we had left a nice hot meal for him! Keep an eye on the kitchen! Love your blog! Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh dear. Shane, what a Thanksgiving fiasco! I’m laughing right now, but I suspect it might not have been a laughing matter at the time! All good wishes to you and your dear family, and thank you so much for your kind message. And cautionary tale! xo
LOL!!! Thanks for the Thanksgiving giggle! I’m glad it was just tissue and newspaper and not your beautiful pillows!! Otis welcomed me home to a pile of downy feathers one day 🙂
I’ll keep an eye on the turkey and the pillows!! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. xo
